Our passion for Krown Rust Protection

Coulee Auto has partnered with Krown, a worldwide provider of vehicle rust protection. Krown is a Canadian company who’s developed it’s rust protection treatment in the harsh winters where roads are heavily covered with salt and salt brine. It’s a must for them in Canada, and it’s a must for us here in La Crosse Wisconsin as well.

I grew up in Southern Iowa where the winters are not as harsh. When I moved to La Crosse, I was astonished how much more quickly rust develop on my vehicles. I tried other products, which helped but broke down over time. With Krown, I finally found the solution to keep my vehicles rust free forever.

How does Krown Rust Protection Actually Work

Krown Rust Protection

Krown is designed to slow down or inhibit corrosion on vehicles. It is a petroleum-based product with rust inhibitors containing no solvents. In fact the Krown product is environmentally safe, contains no toxins, is non-flammable, is non-reactive, is non-corrosive, can be sprayed in any weather, remains active, and is not WHMIS controlled.

Many companies use coating products that are designed to cover over areas that are susceptible to rust. These products may look nice but they do not provide adequate protection against corrosion. For example, these types of coatings can be breached by abrasion or chipping. When this happens, moisture can enter in under the coating and become trapped against the vehicle surface. In this situation the coating will actually accelerate corrosion rather than prevent it.

Krown by comparison is self-healing and is constantly creeping, remaining active to continuously repel moisture and keep it away from the metal surface. In addition, unlike coating-type products, Krown penetrates into even the tightest seams and spot welds delivering a much more effective and comprehensive protection. One final difference is the added benefit that Krown offers of lubricating many moving parts on a vehicle such as door locks, brake cables, power antennas, etc. Coating products cannot do this.
